I build profitable businesses and advise organizations that need help running more efficiently. I start by identifying the biggest realistic opportunity and correcting the obvious problems. I use my operational experience, marketing background, and personal network to attack the issue. I am not just a strategy advisor; I am an operator who has built and run an 8-figure business. I know what it means to manage a staff, serve existing customers, and own the financial consequences of my decisions.
My experience has taught me that money is often misspent on inexperienced people, consultants who cannot execute, or bloated marketing budgets. I look for where a business is losing money or paralyzed by over complicating the ask. I organize a plan and go after the heart of the issue, which often starts with high-impact, low-barrier marketing—like direct outreach, targeted PR, SEO, and grassroots brand building—to get momentum going. Once those early efforts deliver results, we expand the plan.
I do not lead from the sidelines; I roll up my sleeves and work through difficult challenges with the team. When COVID effectively shut down the live events industry, I steered a pivot in our company to focus entirely on our core drivers. That focus allowed us to not just survive but deliver the three most profitable years in our 30-year history. If you hand me a complex problem, I will find a solution and build a structured path forward that grows profit.
That business mentality was forged over two decades as President, COO, and CMO of TicketCity. I provided strategic direction in an industry that operated like the wild west with free spending competitors. That diligence kept us profitable every year and propelled us to an 8-figure revenue, top 10 national brand. I am a marketer at heart who loves generating innovative ideas that work, but also who recognizes that marketing is simply a layer on top of selling. I am never afraid to set aside the strategies and just ask for the sale, and I am equally undaunted to hear "no."
Running a business also requires aggressively defending it. As a leader I personally tackled our largest existential threats, including navigating massive legal matters, resolving disputes with state attorneys general, and lobbying at the Capitol against well-funded monopolies. I am very persuasive communicator who uses that skill along with strategic foresight to handle crises, avert future problems and always protect the brand.
My ability to build relationships with employees, customers, and vendors is my strongest asset. I use transparency, direct communication, and a healthy dose of humor to build rapport and align the team to achieve the desired outcome. That approach helped build a high-output, growth-minded culture that was named a "Top Place to Work" seven times. I am often asked to share this knowledge at industry conferences, by private companies, and at universities like the UT Austin Moody College of Communication.
Today, I am frequently sought out for strategic advice by leaders who need an outside operator to help them grow or overcome a specific challenge.
